At last night's Los Angeles premiere of
Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, star John C. Reilly showed up in character... Because who
doesn't do that these days?
Yeah, here's the thing, John. This is like your first big starring role, right? And don't think I'm not happy for you, because I am. You totally deserve it, buddy -- you really do. But don't be that guy. We already have that guy, and his name is Will Ferrell. And he's
plenty obnoxious enough for the both of you. Trust me on this.

Thank you! I wish they'd stop with the parody mass production thing. I mean, I think silly parody movies are great, but not in bulk! No more Harold and Kumar, no more Scary/Epic/Date Movie shite, PLEASE!!! I mean, do these movies actually make money, enough to encourage them to continue making them?
Honestly, I don't find this terribly obnoxious. Reilly and his little band of musicians have been doing a small tour to promote the film with free screenings and concerts afterward. Having caught him on the tour, I can say that the movie is quite good (don't ever lump it in with the Scary/Epic/Date Movie crowd AT ALL, as those are just plain evil) and recalls a time when spoofs were worth watching and the concert was simply delightful and full of energy. The music is integral to the film and to see it in person is an experience, so I don't see the problem here. Plus, the movie was written/directed by Jake Kasdan who, after Zero Effect, can do no wrong by me.
As for the Harold & Kumar, Scary/Epic/Date Movie stuff mentioned in the comment above: Harold & Kumar isn't really a spoof, it's just a stoner road comedy. I'm not defending it, merely explaining its genre. And the sad fact is, the Scary Movie franchise alone (don't know about Date or Epic Movie) has brought in over $420 million dollars. They make tons of cash despite being completely awful. So that's why they keep getting made.
~Just an anoymous commenter who occasionally checks the site. Keep up the good work!
It doesn't help that Borat was doing that too. Everytime I see the trailer for this movie, I want to stab my eye with something sharp. And he was so MOVING in Chicago.
I still think the name "Dewey Cox" is hilarious.
