Name that Granny!

lauperbeach.jpgDo you know who this is? If you're, say, 25 years old or older, there's no doubt that you do. If you're female, during your teenage years, you probably dressed up like Sarah Jessica Parker and belted out this woman's songs. Before she got some of the old underarm blubber, and before she started scoping out the beach for great spots to take her metal detector, you may have emulated Punky Brewster or Blossom while dancing to this woman's music. She was one of the biggest female stars of the 80s, arguably second to only Madonna in terms of MTV airplay. In fact, she was the first artist to ever have four top ten hits from the same album.

Can you name her? The answer is after the jump.

The answer is: Cyndi Lauper. Don't you feel old now?

Ugh.. Cyndi Lauper. The name alone conjures inmages of digestion, and waste.

I saw Cyndi's Behind-the Music a few years ago and there was a clip of Little Richard telling the audience that 'the girl can sing'.

Right. If you have to have an aging homosexual icon telling your audience that you're the greatest singer in the world, guess what, you undoubtedly suck and deserve to be electrocuted.

(No offense to homosexuals)

Time after time finally caught up her. At least she's in the right shape to play Ma Fratelli in the Goonies remake. Because girls just want to have fun. Not osteoporosis. Fun.
