Ren, age matters because Hayden just turned eighteen last year and they have been together since before then. The indication then, is that maybe they've had sex i.e. statutory rape in this case. Being 31 and your girlfriend being 20 is whatever because she's been legal for 2 years. If you've been with her since she was 17, people would look at you weird as an adult man wanting to be with what basically amounts to a girl and not a woman.
