The incident was blamed on a miscommunication between Ringo's publicist and the show's musical director -- but I think we all know what really happened here: Ringo got Reeg-jected.

Yep, old man Regis just wasn't ready for this crazy "rock and roll" stuff the kids are into today. I heard he originally demanded that Lawrence Welk appear on the show, but ultimately had to settle for Ringo on account of Lawrence Welk being dead for 15 years.
