I thought it was cool, anyway. I mean, nevermind that Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters are not only more culturally relevant and infinitely more talented than Metallica, who haven't delivered a legitimately great album since ... And Justice for All, it's still kind of cute to see a fan letter from one Rock God to another. "Dear Metallica,
"Hey, it's Dave! Remember me? Yeah, I'm the guy that's been listening to your band faithfully since 1983. I bought your first album 'Kill 'Em All' from a mailorder catalogue called Under The Rainbow, I think. Actually I can't remember. It was 1983 for Christsakes! But that album changed my life and I've been listening to your albums ever since (even 'St Anger'!).
"I can't wait to hear the new shit, and no matter what you guys do I'll always be first one at the shop waiting to hear it. I'm sure you'll come out and blow everybody's fuckin' minds, because you're fuckin' METALLICA!
"Good luck. And don't release it until it's kick-ass.
"Yours, Dave Grohl.
"P.S. Are you finished recording the drums yet?" (Source)
It's kind of sweet, in a devil horn's rock-your-face off kind of way, huh?
Come back! This isn't the wrong crowd! More Dave, please. Pretty please!
That rules. Definitely not the wrong crowd!
Dave Grohl is just ... yumminess. hot and snarky, what a combo!
I heart Dave Grohl.
Dave Grohl is single handedly saving rock and roll.
Hey, come on. I like Dave Grohl but 'more culturally relevant and infinitely more talented' than Metallica? Tell me how exactly? I take really issue with 'more talented'. You obviously haven't listened to much of Metallica's stuff. They helped to define thrash metal [along with Anthrax, Slayer and Megadeth]. I don't think the Foo Fighters defined any genres. Sure, it's been a while since Metallica released anything really good. But that's OK, they've got the score on the board man, so don't be getting up them!
NOT THE WRONG CROWD!!!!! MORE DAVE PLEASE!!!!
