Old Spice

Old Spice (Noun) A masculine blend of sweat, gasoline, and animal blood, it is the surest way to snag the hottest chick at the bowling alley.

All right: Putting aside the overpowering putridity of Old Spice, I gotta hand it to the advertising folks for the company, who have put together two of the better commercials in recent history. But, which is better? The Neil Patrick Harris Old Spice commercial (above), or Bruce Campbell's (below)? It's an impossible question.

I gotta go with Bruce on this one - but just barely. I write a similar feature over on popdose that is basically the same thing - except with songs (last week was songs about Evil Twins). Also, you guys should add a voting feature.

So hard to choose! I'll have to give it to BC, if only because he also starred in the excellent "Hungry Like the Wolf" Old Spice ad. Now if only they could make this a fair contest by having NPH sing "Careless Whisper" in a follow-up ad....

I agree with Edith. Bruce gets the win, because the 'Hungry Like the Wolf' spot is one of my favorites ever.
