Emphatic (Adjective) Uttered, or to be uttered, with emphasis; strongly expressive. I dunno, folks. Somehow, singing, "I got something to say, I killed your mother today," just doesn't carry the same emphatic weight when you're wearing a plain grey T-shirt (American Eagle?), a slight non-alcoholic beer belly, and plaid fucking shorts.
So sad, isn't it? All our heroes either die or become fathers.
last time i checked, james hetfield didn't sing that. glen danzig did. and that's not a picture of glen danzig.
It's a Metallica song named Last Caress that goes "I got something to say, I killed your baby today and it doesn't matter much to me, as long as it's dead. I got something to say, I raped your mother today...." Anyway, he still rocks in my books. I highly recommend seeing the Metallica documentary Some Kind of Monster.
Oh yeah, the song was originally recorded by the Misfits and perhaps Danzig has covered it as well.
Darling Jade, Danzig was the lead singer of the Misfits. Just thought you might want to know.
Anyone who cares to know, I saw the Misfits (minus Danzig, natch) at an autograph signing about ten years ago and it was the most surreal event of my life. First of all, it was at the Torrance mall. Second, they were in makeup, with red slit throats, which if memory serves they didn't do in their original incarnation. Third, about half of the people standing in line were high school age girls who giggled like, well, high school age girls when they got their autographs (a lot of "ohmygods!" and such). A bunch of them were doing so whilst unfurling a signed Misfits poster bearing the upsidedown hanging rotting corpse thats graced a fair number of tshirts and concert bills. Oh, and they were dressed like they were heading to the beach afterwards. Like I said, surreal.
Thank you, Lizowski. I knew he (Danzig) had been a founding member of the Misfits, I just wasn't sure if they had done the song before or after his departure. I'm not really familiar with The Misfits music, much more familiar with Metallica. I must say that the people who post comments on this site seem much nicer than some of the other blog sites I have posted comments on where I literally get verbally attacked (called a stupid c*#t, told to F*#k off etc.) if someone doesn't agree with my comment.
